A Magical New Year

This engaging activity is a fantastic way to kick off the new year, encouraging your students to reflect on their achievements and set new goals. They will also have a blast creating a unicorn to accompany their aspirations.

To start, your students will reflect on what they are proud of, followed by writing about their goals in math, writing, reading, and behavior. While my students typically rewrite one goal on the provided paper, you can encourage yours to rewrite all their goals if you wish.

A rough draft page is available where students can write their ideas down first and then this can be edited before using the final paper.

Additionally, I've included four pages of sample goals that you can display on your smart board or bulletin board to inspire your students. You’ll also find decorative letters that spell out “A Magical New Year” or “Be Magical.”

The pages are easy to assemble, providing you with everything you need to create a vibrant back-to-school bulletin board for the New Year.

Plus, I’ve included notes to celebrate your students when they achieve their goals!
